Hello keeps the formula clean and simple: mild coconut-derived cleansers instead of SLS, xylitol and erythritol for sweetness instead of artificial sweeteners, and soothing aloe and coconut oil, with none of the parabens, dyes, or artificial flavors you find in conventional paste. It is vegan and PETA cruelty-free, made in the USA, and it comes in a BPA-free tube and recyclable carton. It tastes genuinely pleasant, which matters more than it sounds, since a paste you enjoy is one you will actually brush with for the full two minutes.

It is worth knowing that fluoride-free and hydroxyapatite pastes cannot carry the ADA Seal of Acceptance, because that seal currently requires fluoride, which is a fact about the seal, not a verdict on these products. If you are cavity-prone, or choosing for a child, that is a genuinely good thing to talk through with your dentist.

The Honest Notes

Two formula notes.

1. First, this is a clean cleanser rather than a decay-fighter: it contains no remineralizing active, no fluoride and no nano-hydroxyapatite, so it freshens and polishes but does not actively rebuild enamel. 2. Second, the white and whitening versions contain titanium dioxide as a mineral whitener, and the paste is flavored with natural flavor, so it is clean and free of artificial flavor but not flavor-free.
