Bamboo handles are easy, but almost every "eco" brush still uses nylon bristles, whether petroleum nylon or the plant-derived bio-nylon that softer brushes rely on. This is the exception. Gaia Guy's bristles are natural boar hair, with no nylon and no petroleum at all, set straight into a solid, one-piece bamboo handle with no glue and no laminate. That makes it the only genuinely nylon-free, zero-microplastic toothbrush we carry, the one product where the whole brush, bristles included, can honestly go into a compost bin. The packaging matches the intent: a plain paperboard tube that is compostable, recyclable, and sturdy enough to reuse.

The Honest Notes

Two honest points, and the first is a real one for this store.

1. Boar hair is an animal product, so this brush is not vegan, which sits a little apart from the mostly plant-based hair and skin lines elsewhere on the site. We carry it anyway because for a brand built on keeping microplastics out of your home and body, a genuinely nylon-free bristle is the single most on-mission thing a toothbrush can be, and no vegan bristle currently achieves that. If vegan matters more to you than zero-microplastic, a plant-derived bio-nylon brush is the alternative, just know it is plant-derived, not plastic-free. 

2. Second, as a natural fiber the bristles can occasionally shed or work loose, especially as the brush adjusts to moisture, and boar hair needs to dry thoroughly between uses to stay fresh, so rinse well and stand it upright to air-dry. The animal-hair feel also takes a day or two to get used to if you are coming from nylon.
